Lerzan ÖZKALE


 

Lerzan Özkale is a professor at Istanbul Technical University. She holds a PhD from the same university.

Although her main field of research and teaching is international trade and integration economics, she publishes also on quality in higher education and engineering studies. She led ITU management engineering department through its first programme accreditation.

She was appointed as an ECTS (European Credit Transfer System) Counsellor of the European Commission in 2003 and as a Bologna Expert in 2004. She was appointed as a member of both the Advisory and Working Groups on EHEA by the CoHE. She assumed various administrative responsibilities in Istanbul Technical University as Senator, vice-dean, advisor to the rector, department head, Institutional Erasmus Coordinator etc. She was Secretary General of İKV Turkey (Economic Development Foundation) in 2007-2008.

Actually, she takes part in the assessment of European projects related to the modernisation of higher education.

Her foreign languages are C2 level in French and English in addition to drafting and presentation skills.
