He is Professor and President at Higher Education Quality Board. Orhan Uzun holds MSc from Yüzüncü Yıl University/Van and PhD from Gazi University/Ankara. He served as University Board Member, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, and Vice Rector at Bülent Ecevit University/Zonguldak. In addition, he also worked as Vice-Chairman at Gaziosmanpaşa University at the department of Physics (1999-2002), Vice Dean at Gaziosmanpaşa University, Faculty of Arts and Sciences (2006-2007), Senate Member at Gaziosmanpaşa University, Faculty Representative (February 2010-November 2012), Faculty Board Membership at Gaziosmanpaşa University, Faculty of Arts and Sciences (June 2011- November 2012), Head of Department at Gaziosmanpaşa University, Physics Department (June 2011-November 2012), Associate Professor Sub-Committee Member of the Commission, ÜAK Physics Committee (October 2011- February 2016). He is currently serving as a member at Turkish Physical Society (TFD) and Metal Powder Industries Federation (MPIF). His foreign language level is B2 in English.
