Zeliha KOÇAK TUFAN


 

Zeliha KOCAK TUFAN (MD, Associate Professor) born in Wedel in 1977. She studied at Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine and Yuzuncu Yil University Faculty of Medicine. She completed her residency at Ankara Training and Research Hospital and specialized in Infectious Diseases and Clinical Microbiology. In 2012 she received her title of associate professor. She attended various observerships and studies at Szeged University, Leiden University and Oxford University. She collaborated with Japan's Ministry of Health on project on viral haemorrhagic fevers - Crimean Congo hemorrhagic fever training. She participated in various workshops, run various projects.

She has 50 academic publications in domestically and internationally published journals. She is interested in viral hemorrhagic fevers, sepsis, transplant infections, rational antibiotic use and bone-joint infections. She is a member of European Society of Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases (ESCMID), Society of Critical Care and Transplant Infectious Diseases (TID). She is also member of the Ministry of Health Influenza Scientific Advisory Board. She is married with two children. She is a member of Council of Higher Education and member of Recognition and Equivalence Comission since 2015.
